COMPANY

Background and philosophy

Back in the 1920s, Erich Kieserling and his brother carried out transport services for the iron and steel industry in Hamm, Westphalia. A couple of years later, the flourishing enterprise was dispatching big Büssing truck-trailer combinations over Germany’s newly built motorways. Erich Kieserling set up business in Bremen’s Grünenstraße and established long-standing business relations among others to the Brinkmann tobacco factory and the Roland mill.

After the war, the languishing business embarked on a new lease of life with just one Tempo three wheeler. Kieserling recognised the new needs of the market early on and geared his services towards answering them. Private households were now heating with oil; road tankers were needed to deliver it. Then the first containers arrived from the USA and required transporting to the hinterland. Because Kieserling had the necessary – in those days very rare – semi-trailer trucks, he was in business.

Recognising emerging needs and developing tailor-made solutions to fit is the recurrent theme that has run through the company’s evolution in green. since its inception. Having remained true to its values and its philosophy since those early days, the Kieserling Group was and still is one of the major innovators in the logistics sector.
